Holiday Blues

I love going away on holiday, there is nothing better than getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. You can get so bogged down in the daily routine and caught up in all the latest gossip that you forget what life is actually all about.

Recently, I went away on holiday to La Manga in Spain, it is such a gorgeous place. Luckily my boyfriends parents have a flat there and it literally is on top of a hill looking over the mar manor to the right and the sea to the left. Oh it’s a magical place to be. As soon as I arrived I was completely content, my worries were a million miles away and I immediately relaxed! It’s funny how a different country can do that to you. I don’t know maybe it’s just me, perhaps it’s because I spent a large chunk of my childhood living in hot countries, I don’t know but I love getting away from England.

I get the holiday blues so easily!! I think everyone does, majority of the time your coming home from a lovely hot, sandy destination to a grey and cold England. It’s rather funny really. We work so hard to pay for a holiday to get away from work only to have to come back to work and make up for being away on holiday!! It’s the rat race at it’s best.

Now I know people can suffer from S.A.D – Seasonal Affective Disorder and it’s a result of not getting enough vitamin D. Some people may just grab the nearest multi-vitamin or a Vitamin D supplement but really your body needs raw nutrients not man made substitutes that your body can’t break down easily. Did you know that Vitamin D is one of the most important vitamins in regards to health. Not only is it great for depression and mental health it can help blood pressure, your immune system and diabetes. You can find Vitamin D in all different places, such as; Salmon, Tuna, Eggs, Mushrooms. It’s best to eat a wide variety of fresh sources. Of course the sunshine is such a great source and it always makes a difference. I think this time for me it was more getting away and relaxing than a lack of vitamin D because sometimes life just gets on top of you like I said before. It’s the routine you get into and you can forget how important it is to take time out, almost stop for a minute and watch the world pass you instead of you passing the world by.

While it’s always handy to have a reminder of the foods we should be eating, it’s also good to know that Juice Plus+ can help bridge the gap on the days we fall short of eating optimally. The Orchard and Garden Blends together contain juice powders of broccoli, kale, spinach, carrots, tomatoes, oranges, and papayas, as well as 13 other health-giving fruits, vegetables, and grains. – See more here.  And is a great source of natural minerals and vitamins.

Anyway, whatever it is, coming home to grey skies never helps!! For me, it only helped spur me on to help me achieve my dreams. I want to have  a life where I can travel when I want, to wherever I want. I plan to live abroad one day and enjoy to slower pace of live.

Wish me luck! 😉
