Chia Seed Protein Porridge

Wow… Pure and simple!

So I love my shakes, I have them most mornings but every now and then you either fancy something more substantial or just get a bit bored of shakes. So once in a while I will make porridge, which I love.

However this porridge isn’t just any old porridge, it’s jam packed with plant based protein. Yes, the protein is what I usually make my shakes with. The Plant based protein is simply the essence of 17 varieties of fruit and veg. Nothing else. It is Non GMO, Non Gluten and no added sugar or preservatives. With 19g of protein in one scoop, it’s enough for your body to want and need. Not only that but plant protein is much better for your body and you can actually obtain better results. I ave been taking this protein on and off, but mostly on, for 3 years now and still love it. I used to suffer badly with IBS but now I am symptom free. Yay. But why add chia seeds? Well Chia Seeds are packed with antioxidants, which help to fight the production of free radicals which damage our cells and can lead to ageing and disease. As well as this due to their high fibre content they can also aid in weight loss and are high in Omega-3 fatty acids. So I highly recommending adding them into your diet wherever you can.

So how I made my porridge:

1 cup rolled oats

1 cup coconut milk

1/2 scoop Juice Plus Complete Powder

2 tablespoons Chia Seeds

1tsp Cinnamon

Toppings: Banana, strawberries and Flax seed.

Continually stir to keep from burning on the hob! Made that mistake before!

 

Enjoy! You can also change any of the ingredients to pretty much anything else! Experiment and taste the flavour!
